Storm Water Management Plans
Often referred to as Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans or Erosion and Sediment Control Plans as many cities and municipalities call them, the Storm Water Management Plans are designed plans and/or manuals that document and specify best management practices (BMPs) that control and maintain storm water flows and pollutants from adversely impacting downstream properties and waterways. Under directive from the Clean Water Act, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality requires that many properties and construction activities have a Storm Water Management Plan/Manual performed and available. The BMP improvements from the Storm Water Management Plan may be installed and maintained temporally or permanently to control erosion, flow velocity, discharge, sedimentation transport, and pollutants or harmful chemicals.
